C01-DRW Class

The Deep River Water transport is a riverine craft designed exclusively with rapid movement in rivers too shallow for conventional hulled patrol boats. The secret tot he effect is the twin armored pontonns that effectively keep the deck of the craft above the water and put very little surface area of the craft in contact with the water. The pictured model is a vehicle hauler variant which strips out seating for infantry in favor of transport locks and strapping for light weight vehicles. These craft are someone if a major boon for any force operating on worlds with exceptional amounts of rivers or shallow coastal regions as they cheaply allow for rapid deployments, and are sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of frontline logisitical support. Some liken the craft to a Higgins boat of past ww2 era in use however the comamnder sof such boats know the DRW is both faster and able to navigate a minimum water depth of 6 feet with a safe load of 4 tons and 8 feet with a maximum load of 8 tons. The only noticeable flaw of the design is it's lack of weapons for which some of it's crews have complained however this lack of weapons is often offset as CORE tends to deploy river boats to support any action by the DRW that may come under enemy fire.
