(The vehicle in the picture to the right is a C15 'Medium' Tank which despite it's name actually weighed 35 tons, it was considered medium for it's time due to it's firepower not it's tonnage. In comparison the Empire tank is 100 tons.)

Overview
The Empire tank is one of history's interesting reversals, not unlike the captured USS Merrimack which was converted by the confederacy to the CSS Virginia during the American civil war its history is that of war and capture. Initially designed the 'Demon' tank it was conceived as the ultimate combat machine by CORE. Armed to handle threats of all types specifically the two known weaknesses of a armored unit, infantry and aircraft the demon would have surely been more fearsome an enemy had any great number been fielded by CORE. Towards the end of the human civil war SUN forces had captured nearly the entire main production lot of the tank and the manufacturing facilities relatively intact which posed a problem what could the Southern Unified Nations do with so many massive and unwieldy tanks.

Little is publicly known of the redesign of the older Demon tank chassis for sure however from visual data and brief combat footage a number of key aspects can be ascertained with reasonable clarity. Firstly is the overall design, or lack thereof it seems all but the most central body-structure of the demon remains leaving an interesting strategy of design present. Built around a perfectly rectangular central body are angular extensions that comprise the foreword hull, engine compartment and both the sponson 'wings'. Apparently frontal profile images display that the once blocky body best described as a 'deadly rectangle' are gone replaced with carefully sloped armor profiles engineered with maximized impact deflection in mind as well as somewhat lowered wind resistance. Additionally the SUN deign team seems to have done away with the heavy track systems entirely replacing it with four well protected wheel pods that seem to bear both independent suspension and at least in the foreword two independent steering for each of the paired wheels on each of the axles. A noticeable change is the turret which seems to have been replaced entirely with a newer more angular one that sports the vehicles four primary weapons in an arrangement that is reminiscent of the much older quad-cannons on the Kreiggeist. Little information exists about the precise armament or capabilities of the tank however video references seem to indicate it is markedly agile compared to the earlier demon tank.
