Naval Battle at Port Asur Escalates.

The navy conducted a surprise raid against secessionist forces under Field Marshal Sloane today which seems to have been in conjunction with the boarding action against Port Asur. While the information from the front is still sketchy at best it has been confirmed that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, core fleets are actively engaged in the hostilities against forces under Field Marshal Sloane. Rumors from the front indicate a seeming lack of quarter given between the two opposing forces and it has been whispered that the First Prime himself is leading the naval action from the flagship of the 1st Core fleet. This will be the second time in history that this much naval hardware and firepower has been used to handle an enemy combatant threat. At noon the state department will be having a press conference to clarify the details of this event.

Investigators trying to make sense of battle.

Days after the battle of Port Asur investigators from both the government and the military are still trying to make sense of the Port Asur incident. Both the Government and the Military have been largely quiet about their findings thus far a source within the military has stated on the condition of anonymity that indeed Field Marshal Sloane apparently had plans to secede from the nation and was planning to subvert as many fleets as was possible to do so. The interception of the 9th fleet seems to support this statement. While official information is a bit sparse at this time we do know that Field Marshal Sloane has been captured alive, and is considered among the wounded. The severity of the Field Marshal’s injuries or his present location is unknown but it is expected he will stand trial for his actions assuming of course he is competent to do so. As per the Geneva convention despite his actions the field marshal will get full medical treatment for his injuries, and a fair trial.

The Nightly News

And tonight we bring you some additional news regarding the aftermath of the Battle of Port Asur. As some of you may know the hostilities began just a few days ago due to the discovery by the intelligence service of a plan by Field Marshal Aaron Sloane to begin a rapid Secession of territories within the Ancerious galaxy. It is still believed by investigators that the plan was not the Field marshal’s alone but a plot that was partially conceived with foreign help. The state department has in prior days confirmed two facts, firstly that the forces assigned to Field marshal Sloane had received knowingly stolen property from a foreign nation. Additionally it is also clear from information captured during the boarding action of Port Asur that the stolen property, two alien cruisers were currently being studied and dismantled for ends currently unknown.
As noted in our prior broadcasts concerning this event the surviving remainders of the 9th fleet that escaped interception to aid Sloane and the 12th, 13th, and 17th
Expeditionary fleets under Sloane’s command have been neutralized. It is now known that casualties for the secessionist forces under Sloane suffered 90,332 WIA, MIA of KIA out of a total personnel count of 115,810 personnel in the insurrectionist fleet alone. Casualties for the boarding of Port Asur are still as yet unreleased. Loyalist Naval forces however suffered a 152,928 WIA, KIA or MIA out of a total naval personnel count of 413,320 personnel spread across the four core fleets involved in the combat action. The navy however has yet to release a list of those lost in the battle yet as the verification process of the wounded and deceased given the scale of battle has complicated matters.
The aftermath of the battle of Port Asur. Honestly I had no idea I had that many people aboard my ships until I started counting crews, it puts a new perspective on it when you realize 100k+ folks were put out of action in a single 12 hour battle without counting SOMC forces boarding the Port itself.
