Description

The T-18/2 is undoubtedly a Soviet design intended to take a cheaper angle on what the Americans did with the M4. Where as the M4 was reliable agile and had a respectable gun, the T-18/2 only has a reliable gun as the rest of the tank is shoddy in construction that only it's sheer production numbers and the copious amounts of forced labor keep it in the ranks. It has to be said that often these tanks arrive at the front lines with improper welds missing parts and often break down at the drop of a hat. The service record of the T18/2 is so bad that trained soviet tankers wont drive them preferring instead to be shot.
Inevitably the T-18/2 winds up using barely trained drug-controlled convicts instead. Despite this the T-18/2 is dirt cheap to build and the Soviets continue to field hordes of these vehicles and their sheer numbers have contributed to many victories by simply burying a target in tanks. The allied reporting name of 'Ogre' is a direct reference to the numbers the tank is deployed in and it's use of a 15 pounder autocannon that fires in five-shot bursts main the tank modestly effective even if it's armor and lack of speed are less then effective against modern foes. Otherwise the Soviets seem to have left the tank unarmed as it's crew is not even allowed to use handguns for self defense.

As a whole this forty ton tank has little of salvage value, as the tank and it's crew are considered absolutely expendable, and thus the existence of such a vehicle creates a quandary for allied commanders. Are the convicts that operate these tanks charging into battle or merely attempting to flee their homeland?

(Artists note: this tank is heavily inspired by the tanks seen in "The Inhabited Island in the clip seen at this link here: [link] I wanted to keep this version relatively true to the original hence the drab colors and ugly angles as the original was VERY boxy.)
