The First Art

This bit here is a photo of recently reconstructed pottery as you can see but it also has a bit of a story behind it. I think it might have been as far back as my last year of elementary school or somewhere in junior high that a number of odd and irregular peices of pottery like these were found on the school property and turned over to the art students. These guys were done up in minimalist colors like you see above by me while I was still figuring out if I had any artistic skill at all. They predate the 'Sunset In The Suburbs'* painting by a few years.

That said, I've hauled these buggers about for years since as a part of my personal decorations. Needless to say they've been all over the east coast of the USA. In the latest move as you can see above they broke, and the bowl on the left was more damaged then the pot on the right. Both were repaired as best as was possible and given a new coat of acrylic paint to match the old color schemes. The colors used were Indian White, Cola Black on the bowl and Indian white, Medieval Gold and Black on the pot.

Here's the question, should the damage on the bowl be left as is or painted over? What do you all think?
