“So after a bit of chaos I got the field promotion, and now command the U.S.S. “Not Constantinople". Most commanding officers start in something small anyway, and the Miranda class isn’t bad. At least it’s not the Centaur Class which looks like a Starfleet Engineer was on some good Caitian drugs. The ship as a whole is tiny, the quarters are cramped, and it’s barely armed. We are still using the original weapons from our training cruise and let’s face it, those suck, when fighting the same Klingons that Killed our original Commanding officer we were doing very little until the U.S.S. Venture showed up and basically made our weapons look like a cheap laser light show. As if that were not bad enough, I still can’t figure what the joke about the ship’s name is. Some of the human crew get the joke but I don’t get what is so funny. Hell even my first officer won’t let me in on the joke. It’s been about three weeks since we lost the ship’s captain and I got promoted from first officer-cadet to Lieutenant. Already Starfleet command has sent us off to go look into how that all went down. In just a few hours we’ll arrive at Vulcan to transport a Vulcan VIP to P’jem. Such is the glorious career of a Starfleet officer to play taxi for the most boring people in the galaxy.”
