I woke up this morning after really watching the movie Glory.

I woke up this morning after listening to the music behind the movie,

I thought to myself, wait a moment I have it easy.

I did not wake up at the crack of dawn to do slave labor for free.

I saw that I could wake up at when I chose and had a breakfast composed of free choice.

I woke uo this morning and thought, ain’t no master gonna tell me what to do,

I woke up and thought, today is gonna be good.

Long story short, I re-watched the movie glory as it’s my reality check and was reminded of how far people of color have come. In the end we must also travel a long ways towards ethnic equality. The movie is just a glimpse into a violent period in our history.

As Frederick Douglas put it best “Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”  Indeed there shall never be progress without struggle, and advancement without hardship.

For those confused in their political belief considerthat F.D. also said the following.

“I am a Republican, a black, dyed in the wool Republican, and I never intend to belong to any other party than the party of freedom and progress.” At one time the republicans were noble and just, now they are what the democrats once were. A party about capitalism; merciless in their passing.

Fredrick Douglas was one of the smartest men this nation has ever had.  I don't think either party cares about the masses anymore.
